Varieties of Peace workshop 26-27 November, 2018 in Umeå

In the past week the Varieties of Peace research team was joined by its newest member Nilanjana Premaratna who will conduct her post-doc research within the program. Nilanjana’s area of research is peacebuilding and the arts, and she will be focusing her empirical research to Sri Lanka. We were delighted to welcome her to the team as well as to hear more about her work and how it will contribute to the overarching purpose of the Varieties of Peace research agenda.

We were also happy to host Manuela Nilsson from the Department of Social Studies at the Linneaus University who presented her research on local perceptions of threat and security in post-conflict Colombia, a very fascinating topic indeed.
